Simon qualified as a solicitor in 1998 and practised maritime law from qualification at Ince & Co, spending a period of time based in Singapore. He joined the London Club in 2008, and as an Associate Director he now manages the claims teams handling both P&I and FD&D matters for Mutual Owner Assureds based in the Far East, South East Asia, and parts of Europe as well Charterers’ Cover and Fixed Premium. He also sits as the London Club’s Representative on the IG Claims Cooperation Sub-Committee and on the FDD Insurers Forum. Among the Pool Claims he has handled personally are the Shen Neng 1 in Australia and now the X-Press Pearl which caught fire and sunk in Sri Lanka.
