Michael  began his maritime career in South Africa and has since worked globally .He spent his sea going career on product tankers, Emergency response and Salvage Tugs, Anchor handling tugs and offshore Diamond Drill ships.  Most of this being spent in Offshore Salvage and towage.

In 2011 he joined the emergency response towage and salvage sector, working his way through the ranks to Master on offshore towage and supply vessels. During this period he was involved in multiple operations, from search and rescue and emergency towage in the Southern Ocean to working on site during some of the more complex salvage and wreck removal operations. Since coming ashore and moving to the UK , Michael joined TMC Marine in 2021 as a Master Marine r and Salvage Co-ordinator.  Michael carries out incident and accident investigations and Salvage Consultancy work, he is also an appointed member of the Lloyds SCR Panel and holds a  Master Mariner unlimited certification and a Master of Science degree in Sustainable Maritime Operations.
