Alexander is a Partner at Hill Dickinson where he has been since November 2014. Prior to this he was at the United Nations International Civil Aviation Organisation in Montreal. After completing law school Alex was the law associate to The Hon. Mr Justice Davies and The Hon. Mrs Justice McCallum of the New South Wales Supreme Court. Alex specialises in dry shipping disputes and advisory work in relation to charterparties, cargo claims, sale & purchase disputes, marine insurance, and disputes arising from the carriage of goods by sea. He also specialises in cross border proceedings.
Alex’s practice has a London Arbitration focus (LMAA Terms, ICC) as well as significant experience of proceedings before the English High Court and Court of Appeal where he recently co-acted for the successful shipowners against war risk insurers ‘WIN WIN’ [2024] EWHC 719 (Comm) and [2025] EWCA Civ 1019.
Alex is an experienced litigator but also assists his clients navigate commercial solutions to disputes, at all stages. He has a particular interest in ADR and has successfully represented clients in several mediations in the UK and Greece and is a CEDR accredited mediator. He acts for shipowners, charterers, traders and their insurers and P&I Clubs, with clients based in Greece, EMEA, the United States, Asia and Latin America.

Alex is a graduate of the University of Sydney Law School, undertaking part of his graduate studies at the East China University of Politics and Law in Shanghai.
